Daily Choices: What to do on Thursday, January 31 

Music: It’s DJ night at Dubland, and SwaggleRock is bringing the bass. While this outfit’s mixes can tend toward the nasty, it’s got an undeniable catchy swing that is certainly worth sticking around for. The night also features a whole grab bag of other DJs, including Skanntron, MK, and GhettoTronics. The show goes down Thursday, January 31, 10 p.m. at Dubland Underground, 315 Alexander St. $5-$15, 18+. 232-7550.

Comedy: "The Kids in the Hall" and "Newsradio" star Dave Foley will be perform stand-up shows at The Comedy Club (2235 Empire Blvd.,Webster) beginning tonight at 7:30 p.m., and continuing Friday-Saturday, February 1-2 at 7:30 & 10 p.m. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased at the box office or online at thecomedyclub.us.

Music: Have that musical dollar go the extra mile at the West Webster Fire Department Tribute concert tonight at Water Street (204 N. Water St., waterstreetmusic.com). Mesh, Paul Cummings, That Party Band, Big Eyed Phish, and Divided by Zero will be playing, music starts at 6 p.m., tickets run $15-$30.

Art: The sixth Monroe and Vicinity Biennial art show will open tonight at the Tower Fine Arts Center Gallery (180 Holley St., SUNY Brockport campus), featuring the work of Bruce Adams, Sarah Sutton, Holly Greenberg, and Bill Hastings (artwork pictured. An opening reception takes place 4-6 p.m., and the show continues through February 24. Admission is free, parking passes are $4 during the week. Music: Hailing from Kyoto, Japan, composer and guitarist Hiroya Tsukamoto will be playing tonight at Bernuzio’s (122 East Ave., bernuzio.com) at 7 p.m. Call 473-6140 for information.

Theater: "She Will Have Her Way” kicks off tonight at MuCCC (142 Atlantic Ave.) at 7:30 p.m., and continues Friday night. The play by Justin Rielly is about women and features bitter stepsisters, a fairy who loves to give nightmares, and even a girl in a banana costume singing a classical aria. Music: Hey Dude After Hours will be hosting a 1st Anniversary Celebration tonight at Sticky Lips (830 Jefferson Rd., stickylipsbbq.com). Chris Beard and the Campbell Brothers will be playing, doors open at 8 p.m., and tickets run $10-$15.

Music: The musical project that would become Temperamental Falcons was conceived by Andy Schmitz and Jeff Coles Smith toward the end of 2009. The line-up, and its intriguing collection of talent, started simmering at Sundance and now boils over with an energetic and ethereal sound they like to call “Atmosphericana.” Rochester-roots rockers The Silver Threads open the bill.
