Publick Musick in front of the MAG's Italian Baroque Organ
The use of double choirs was popular in Italy around 1600. In this program the MAG organ itself will be one of the choirs, juxtaposed with a string ensemble, letting the audience enjoy the palette of sounds of Eastman's Italian Baroque Organ. Complementing these rich sounds will be sonatas by groundbreaking composers active around the same time, who created the music that ushered in the Baroque era. Performers: Boel Gidholm & Mary Riccardi, violin; James Marshall, viola; Christopher Haritatos, cello; Deborah Fox, theorbo; and Naomi Gregory, organ. On the series of Third Thursday Concerts with Eastman's Italian Baroque Organ.
