MUSIC: What are the important things to know about Metric?
The group formed in Toronto, had its fifth album release this summer, has
collaborated with Howard Shore (he composed music for “The Lord of the Rings”),
and had its music featured all over, including in a certain super-awesome film
called “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.” If that isn’t
enough to get you down to Water Street Music Hall ( 204
N. Water St.) tonight at 8 p.m. (tickets $28-$30, download of new album
included) then nothing probably will. Check waterstreetmusic.com for more
details.

MUSIC: Want something a little more than your normal fare?
Head out to Lovin Cup (300 Park Point Dr.) for No
Fast Food
, a jazz group serving up music that is sure to whet any appetite.
And don’t forget to check out any of Lovin Cup’s fine
brews and meals while you’re at it. Tunes kick off at 8 p.m.,
tickets run $18-$20. Check lovincup.com for more.

MUSIC: Sure, I just ate at Dinosaur-Bar-B-Que
(99 Court St.) last night, but can you really ever have enough of good rocking
blues and even better food? Female-fronted rock band Fools will be
tearing it up on Court Street tonight, so stop in and check the ladies out.
Things get started at 9 p.m., show is free.
