Tried to watch Jimmy Kimmel Friday night but kept getting coverage from Alexander and East. I was only catching brief bits but as late as 12:15 I think it was just people standing around with no significant info being provided or important questions asked. Later learned what was up. It seems to me our local channel was trying to make and become the news rather than reporting it. The pressures of the news cycle has led to the over reporting of many events and inflating their importance without asking relevant questions of interviewees or delving in to their views. Disappointing to see one of our respected channels jumping on the bandwagon and one our respected newsmen shooting from the lip instead of providing a more thoughtful perspective..
