To deal with ISIS: wipe them out

The solution for putting an end to ISIS lies in our willingness to hunt them down like the animals they are, and get down in the gutter to unleash hell on each and every one of them.

Forget about political correctness, forget about offending the Muslim religion, and forget about taking half measures in responding to their threats. Now is the time to accelerate our efforts to ensure that there are no more Manchesters.

If we can’t form a “coalition of the willing” to finally remove them from the face of the earth, we must go it alone. And make no mistake, there should be no “rules of engagement” as we pursue them.

How much longer are we going to wimp out as we attend one memorial service after another? Either we take the harsh but necessary steps today, or we continue to watch the carnage unfold. Which is it going to be?

  1. I find the publishing of this very upsetting. It seems to condone violence and racism. I wonder if ISIS and Muslim were replaced with African Americans, Mexicans, Jews, Christians, even White Supremacists, would you have published it.

  2. Dale, my letter does condone violence and racism when dealing with despicable assassins like ISIS. I would call for the same treatment for Christians, Jews, Blacks etc. if they engaged in such murderous activity. I wonder how you’d react if your spouse or child fell victim to such a tragedy?

  3. Dale is obviously living in a naive imaginary world. Seventy-five years ago, would Dale have found it to have been “condoning violence and racism” when the allies destroyed Hitler’s and Hirohito’s evil totalitarian regimes? Would Dale have found it “very upsetting” if, in 1941, a newspaper published someone’s opinion about the need to “wipe them out”? People like Dale have been blinded by political correctness to the point of absurdity. How many chopped off heads does it take them to understand that ISIS must be totally annihilated lest the world suffer the bloody consequences? If Dale could only understand that Dennis Regan’s common-sense comment has NOTHING to do with racism. And yes, sometimes violence must be used to destroy evil.

  4. The US could do more toward wiping out ISIS by getting out of Syria and letting the Iraqi and Syrian national armies do their thing with the help of Russian airforce. Failing that the US could stop allowing them to move from one besieged location to another, stop supplying them with modern anti-armor, MANPADs, satellite communications, medical equipment.

Recall, the US was “fighting” ISIS in Syria for years while they expanded in all directions, operating oil convoys to Turkey that could be seen from space.

Instead of signing record-busting arms deals with the Saudis, we could clamp down on their funding of ISIS and AlQaeda ( although to be fair, SA mostly funds AlQaeda, since ISIS is more closely connected to the Muslim Brotherhood). The recent isolation of Qatar is liable to reduce their aid to ISIS, forcing many of them to switch to “our” AlQaeda affiliates if they want to keep receiving a paycheck. Not sure if many American citizens appreciate the difference, and why should they? The State Dept doesn’t feel the same way about it though.

And against this backdrop, the largest US military base in the ME is in Qatar, the largest single state supporter of ISIS – you can’t make this stuff up.

In short, while I agree with the sentiment, instead of talking about eliminating ISIS the Pentagon could actually make it a priority instead of using them as a proxy mercenary army AND an excuse to blow billions of tax dollars on munitions to “fight” them.
