Kenya Malcolm and Stephanie Siuda perform in the US premiere of "Belonging(s)" at the MuCCC on Sept. 18, 2021, as part of the KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival.

The MuCCC continued its habit of hosting compelling new plays at KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival on Saturday with the American premiere of "Belonging(s)," a two-person drama with comedic undertones by E. Elia.

The highly conceptual play follows in the absurdist footsteps of Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot.” as presented by Out of Pocket Inc. and directed by Kasi Krenzer Marshall, a woman and her spouse (played by Stephanie Siuda and Kenya Malcolm) catalog her possessions, all of which are borrowed. What follows is a thought-provoking commentary on the relationship between ownership and identity, and what truly makes someone their own person.
