MUSIC: So many Halloween parties, so little time! RIPROC’s
annual Monster Mash-Up Halloween Costume
Party
will be getting the scary holiday’s festivities started tonight at 9 p.m.
at Dubland Underground (315 Alexander St.). The party
is 18+ (21+ to drink, of course) and will run you $5 for overs and $15 for unders, but hey, at least you get to party with your older
friends. RIPROC’s new lighting rig will be up and going, and BRO SAFARI, PapiChulo, and Mario Bee will
all be there, so you know you won’t want to miss this one.

RECREATION: Halloween is almost upon us! Get in your
costume, grab some friends, and head out to one of the many haunted houses in
the area, such as Nightmare Manor in
Southtown Plaza (3333 W. Henrietta Rd.), which offers
thrills and chills tonight 7:30-9:30 p.m. Admission is $13-$24. For more

MUSIC: Sure, Halloween may be a week away, but I’m sure you
have your costume ready and raring to go, right? Well, lucky for you the Main Street
Armory (900 E. Main St., rochestermainstreetarmory.com) is throwing a hippity-to-the-hoppity Halloween party
with Fright Jam, featuring the likes
of Cash Out, Driicky Graham, and 38 Spesh. Party starts at 8 p.m., tickets run $20-$25.

THEATER: Through November 3, Geva
Theatre Center (75 Woodbury Blvd.) will host a Festival of New Theatre, kicking
off tonight with “The (Curious Case
of the) Watson Intelligence.”
The show goes on at 7 p.m. and explores
the intersection of technology and romance. Tickets are free, but space is

MUSIC: The acoustic classic rock duo of Frankie & Jewels will be starting off your week of Halloween
celebrations with a kick-off Halloween Bash tonight at the Avenue Pub (522
Monroe Ave.). Best bring your A-game costume, as there will be prizes for the
best one. The spooky times start at 7 p.m.

LECTURE: Hear Kenneth Tigar, who
is currently starring in Geva’s production of
“Freud’s Last Session,” talk about the show today, 10-11 a.m., at

group. Grab some dinner while you’re there, and just be prepared for it

LECTURE: Bear witness to a particularly insidious way that
the government tried to snuff out Aboriginal American culture in tonight’s
lecture, “Lost Identity: The
Painful Legacy of the Native American Boarding Schools.”
The talk will
explore how government-run residential boarding schools were used to
“Americanize” Native children. The event takes place 7-9 p.m. in
Nazareth College’s Shults Center (4245 East Ave.),

MUSIC: Locked in a creative cage and looking for your
musical key? Eastman student-run group RESTisNoisewill
be celebrating the birthday of composer John Cage with a birthday celebration
concert made up entirely of his works. The concert is free and starts at 8 p.m.
at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation (111 N. Chestnut St.). And there’s
cake. Sold.
