MUSIC: Coming to us via the forest that is Brooklyn, indie-rock
group The Antlers will be playing
tonight at Water Street Music Hall (204 N. Water St., waterstreetmusic.com).
Bambi probably won’t show up, but you can always make it a date night and bring
your closest deer. And, we’ll have a reviewer out, so keep an eye on the music
blog Thursday morning for concert photos and a review of the show. Music starts
at 8 p.m., tickets run $15-$17.
MUSIC: And, from our sister city to the West, GurfMorlix, a
Buffalo native, will be bringing his rootsy Americana-meets-country
jamming to Abilene (153 Liberty Pole Way, abilenebarandlounge.com). He’s worked
with everybody, including Lucinda Williams, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Slaid Cleaves, Mary Gauthier, and Blaze Foley. Sure to be
some names in there that tickle your fancy. Show starts at 8 p.m., tickets run
$10-$13.
