Cat Clay’s annual “Winter Warmth: A Soup(er) Benefit,” is a popular charity event that donates 100 percent of proceeds to the Healthy Sisters Soup & Bean Works, a non-profit organization that helps prepare women in recovery to re-enter the workforce. Last year, the event raised more than $4,000. For a donation of $20, visitors choose one of hundreds of handmade bowls donated by artists — this year’s bounty provided by Cathy Barry, Kelly Brenner Justice, Carolyn Dilcher-Stutz, Gayle Erwin, Brooke Millecchia, and Beckett Wood, among others — and a package of Healthy Sisters’ soup mix, and graze on provided appetizers and desserts. The popular event sells out every year, and the line forms early. Entertainment and tastings will be provided while you queue.
“Winter Warmth” takes place Friday, January 12, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Cat Clay, Suite 242, Hungerford Building, 1115 East Main Street (take door 2, by the loading docks).
