The forecast for tonight and at least part of tomorrow looks
rather dubious, and while it may or may not rain on Pride Parade, don’t be
discouraged from joining the fun. Grab your umbrella and rain boots — there’s a

The Rochester Arts Center (formerly the Genesee Center for
the Arts & Education, 713 Monroe Avenue) will host a reception tonight, 6
to 9 p.m., for “Walk a Mile in Our Own
Shoes.” The show features work by ceramic artists Ryan Schulz and Ryan
Snow, at the culmination of their year-long residency at Genesee Pottery. The
reception is free and open to the public, and the show continues through August
15. Firehouse Gallery hours are Monday to Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5
p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; and Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. For more

WALL\THERAPY 2015 kicks off tonight with a reception for “IMPACT!,” an
exhibition of work by each of the artists on this year’s lineup. The event will
take place at 1975 Gallery (89 Charlotte Street), from 6 to 9 p.m., and
admission is free. Weather permitting, the muralists will begin work on

Also kicking off tonight is the inaugural“A Street Light Festival,” which will
take place in the Neighborhood of the Arts, centering on the Village Gate,
Anderson Alley, and a section of Anderson Avenue. The outdoor festival, which
is a signature event in celebration of ROC the Year of Light, will showcase the
innovative work of area light artists and feature interactive light-infused
spectacles.
The free show starts after dark (about 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.) tonight
and again Saturday night, weather providing. Organizers have informed us that the
show will go on in the case of a light drizzle, will delay in the case of
showers, and will be cancelled tonight if there is a steady hard rain, and
launch tomorrow in better weather. For more information, read our

The Rochester Museum & Science Center’s Strasenburgh Planetarium (657 East Avenue) will be open for
both evenings of “A Street Light Festival.” A cash bar starts at 7:45 p.m., with
special performances of the Radiohead laser show at 8:15 p.m. and the 90s laser
show at 9:30 p.m. on both nights. Tickets to the laser shows are $7 for the general
