Vincent Gallo has attracted plenty of attention with his new
film, The Brown Bunny, the follow-up
to Buffalo ’66. Not one to leave his
vision up to fate (or collaboration) — Gallo wrote, starred in, directed,
edited, and composed the music for Bunny.
It tells the story of Bud Clay (Gallo), a motorcycle racer riding
cross-country, meeting and leaving various women, and reminiscing about his
true love (Chloe Sevigny — both actors are pictured). Titters over the
movie’s explicit sex scene, captured in a blurry billboard over Los Angeles,
had buzz going even before the movie’s limited release. There’s only one chance
to see it in the Rochester area (and you’ll see Gallo’s post-Cannes, re-edited
print), when it screens on Saturday, October 2, at the Dryden Theatre, George
Eastman House, 900 East Avenue, at 8 and 10:30 p.m. $6. 271-4090,
