"Faberge"

Some bands spell out their influences on their sleeves, but Vacation Daze sounds like a grand composite of different genres. Lead singer and keyboardist Ian Egling comes from a pop background; drummer and backup vocalist Billy Martin leans more toward the rock side; bassist Jim DeWitt has been involved with electronic music; and guitarist Sage Xavier draws inspiration from funk and jam bands.

This collaboration came together quickly in late 2017 and the group recorded several songs during the week before Christmas. Vacation Daze's newest tune, "Faberge," is a psychedelic, soul-pop gem that combines a driving beat with serious hooks that complement its full-bodied arrangement. The track quickly builds toward a tasty mix of guitar and organ, and bridges with Egling's vocals for a timeless chorus. "Faberge" seamlessly interweaves its instruments in a modern way while paying homage to the sounds of eras gone by. After one listen you may find yourself singing and humming along. Isn't that what good tunes are supposed to do?
