The deliciously unhinged Boston-based punk band Whoopi Sticks pulls no punches whatsoever on its new EP, "Surprising Squirts." The music is unapologetically brash, loud, and foul-mouthed — and that's just the contribution from drummer and lead shouter Lindsey Warning. The sound is so lo-fi, the guitars are as crude and noisy as rusty hacksaws. Whoopi Sticks is for people who like their music rowdy and irreverent. The trio performs alongside Rochester bands Citizens Against People and Ivy's Panic Room.
Whoopi Sticks will play on Saturday, August 26, at Vineyard Community Space, 836 South Clinton Avenue. 6:30 p.m. $5. facebook.com/vineyardcommunityspace; whoopisticks.bandcamp.com.
