ROCKABILLY | Bobby Henrie and the Goners

Rock is the easy part. The fun is in the roll, and local act Bobby Henrie and the Goners rolls with the finest. The rockabilly trio, serving up roots music since 1985, is just as comfortable with old-time country, blues, and swing. Front man Bobby Henrie croons and is a lefty who plays with a flipped guitar technique and an up-tempo rhythm that is propelled by Brian Williams' slapping bass and James Symonds on drums. The sound is clean and full of high spirits and is preserved in the tradition of the icons that helped define the genre. This event is a tribute to Buddy Holly with the rock 'n' roller's tunes at the fore. Three rockabilly jive dance workshops will be held during the day before the party.

Bobby Henrie and the Goners perform Saturday, February 3, at the "Remembering Buddy Holly: A Winter Dance Party" at Harmony House, 58 East Main Street, Webster. $15, dance only; $25 for a workshop; $60 for all day pass. rockabillyhop.com; facebook.com/bobbyhenrieandthegoners.
