To honor the war dead and fill an information gap in US mass
media, City Newspaper will run weekly
lists of American/”Coalition” soldiers and Iraqi citizens killed during the
ongoing occupation of Iraq.

The totals:

558 Americans, 101 “Coalition” soldiers, and approximately
10,000 Iraqi soldiers and 10,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed in Iraq since
the beginning of the occupation to March 12.

American soldiers killed from March 5-12:

Specialist Edward W. Brabazon, 20, Philadelphia,

Staff Sergeant Joe L. Dunigan, 37, Belton, Texas

Sergeant Richard S. Gottfried, 42, Lake Ozark, Missouri

Petty Officer Michael J. Gray, 32, Richmond, Virginia

Specialist Christopher K. Hill, 26, Ventura, California

Private Burt E. Hoyer, 23, Ellsworth, Texas

Captain Gussie M. Jones, 41, Louisiana

Private Matthew G. Milczark, 18, Kettle River, Minnesota

N.B.: In Operation
Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan, Philippines, the Persian Gulf, and other areas),
US military deaths exceed 110, not counting “Coalition” military
deaths. Estimated Afghan deaths so far: 3,700 or more civilians; thousands of
military deaths.
