The Rochester Regional Group of the Sierra Club will hold a candlelight vigil today, Monday, December 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Twelve Corners in Brighton.

Organizers of the vigil want to bring attention to species that are near extinction and those that have recently been declared extinct due to human activities. Luminaries will be arranged to light up the park in Twelve Corners, but attendees are welcome to bring their own flashlights and signs highlighting a species that they hope to protect. All are welcome, but organizers ask attendees not to park in front of the stores because that will prevent customers from shopping. BY TIM LOUIS MACALUSO
