Is the Mayor open to OUTSIDE people?

My feeling is that if and when RCSD truly opens its doors and its minds to outside ideas and people, great changes will start to come, almost overnight.
(That is not to say that every idea and every person has great ideas and talents)
If not, NOW, when?

Why does it have to take tragedy and pressure for our City schools to wake up?
Let me suggest that the problem has a lot to do with the attitudes of teachers.
Please note that the words TEACH and CHEAT contain the same letters.

I think the first job of any teacher is to work at both INTEREST and URGENCY.
This is a challenge for every teacher and every student, every day.
Perhaps, if teachers had worked at being more interested in Treyvan Rowe,
he might still be with us, now.
Perhaps, if Rochester School Board members worked at being truly interested in the problems of our schools, RCSD would become a great success story...

Michael Cohen reminds me of another Cohen, Leonard Cohen.
This reminds me of Leonard Cohen's song, "Democracy":
He sang: "Democracy is coming to the USA".

That was in 1992, 27 years ago. It was prophetic for Leonard Cohen to suggest what another (Michael) Cohen is now concerned about. In fact, Leonard Cohen died, one day after Trump was elected, in 2016. How ironic!

Perhaps, Rochester Schools are at a turning point, when something has to give...
So, I think it is great that the Mayor is trying to stay involved, at this point.
But what about the rest of us? Is RCSD ready to open its doors to outside people and outside ideas? I hope so. Clearly, they cannot solve their own problems.

Now, Mueller is finishing his investigation. He is passing the torch to others, the US House, etc. But if we are to reach a higher level of democracy in the USA, we must all get involved, beginning at the personal and local level, I think.
Here, in Rochester, democracy is coming, too, perhaps.
It is up to us to open debate and dialogue. City News can help, of course...

"Democracy" was written by Leonard Cohen, way back in 1992. But it prophetically predicts that: "Democracy is coming... to the USA."

Ironically, Cohen passed away, one day after Trump won, November 7, 2016.
What this suggests to me is that perhaps, the incredible damage we are getting from Trump might actually trigger a FLIP over to a more democratic America, in the near future. We may be reaching a point where we just can't stand it, any longer...
How this might happen, is anyone's guess...
