The Luna Trio from the Eastman School of Music presents works of women composers from the 18th to 21st century. This free concert will explore and celebrate the evolving roles and social status of women, exploring repertoire by Marianna Martinez, Clara Schumann, and Jennifer Higdon. We hope to honor these women, who have demonstrated remarkable talent and exquisite artistic visions, challenging the traditionally male-dominated world of classical music. This presentation also serves as a tribute to contemporary female musicians, conveying respect and admiration for their contributions.
