The Skycoasters have my enthusiastic support. I (almost) never miss them in the Roch. area. They are a band of diverse backgrounds (yes… they’re old like us) But… as old as they are, they keep us smilin and remembering the “GOOD OLD DAYS)
EVERYONE SHOULD be aware that a young Rochester artist has made it onto The Voice (on NBC). Watch beginning September 22nd, when the new season debuts. The singer/songwriter is AMANDA LEE PEERS. I happen to know her well and she is very deserving. The program does not allow contestants to divulge details, but she has publicly announced her involvement. I have reason to believe we will see her on the televised portions, and my hunch is she advances beyond the blind auditions.
Tune in on 9/22 but also check out her work online in the interim: http://thedriftwoodsailors.com/ She is also on YouTube, Facebook, ReverbNation, etc. Hooray for Amanda and for Rochester. More local musicians are poised to break out soon (like my pal Alyssa Trahan of East Rochester) SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC – help these artists hold onto their dreams!
Just gotta throw this out there…Cover bands are a joke. If you vote a cover band the best of Rochester, You’re basically saying our city is best represented by a lack of originality. We have some amazing and ORIGINAL talent here.Think before you vote!
Ummm Brandon, are you not aware that there is a separate category for best original band???
Patrick Jaouen- best Solo Artist of Rochester
I’d like to vote .”Best of Rochester” the worst online poll I’ve seen. All the links to vote are dead end . Just like Rochester
That’s ’cause primary voting is over.
Primary voting is indeed closed. To vote in the final ballot, please check http://www.rochestercitynewspaper.com/roch…
