Music: I'm sick of these motherfucking snakes on this mother fucking...oh wait, there probably won't be any planes here. But you will be able to see Harvey Mandel and the SnakeCrew tonight at Water Street (204 N. Water St., waterstreetmusic.com) at 8 p.m. And the way this guy plays, you won't even need to try to sustain your enjoyment. Tickets cost $15-$20.

Workshop: Spice up Monday night with a cooking class featuring John's Tex-Mex Eatery's John and Jeana Roth, held tonight, 6-8:30 p.m., at The Culinary Center at Vella (237 Pittsford-Palmyra Rd.). The course costs $70. Register: 421-9362, vellaculinarycenter.com.

Music: Atlanta's own LAZER/WULF has its target set on the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave., bugjar.com) tonight, and the group also has a local tie, including members of Rochester's own Gaylord. Manray and Chaos Came to Be open up, music kicks off at 8 p.m., cover runs $7-$9. And if you don't want the party to stop, Manic Monday Retro Dance will go on after the bands at 11 p.m.
