Sign ups for acts begins at 8:30 p.m., and music runs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Performers are urged to BYOG (bring your own guitar and amp), but don’t BYOB, because there will be drink specials of $3 margaritas and $5 beer pitchers. 1thirstyfrog.com.

Kids: Whether you get to the Strong Museum of Play (One Manhattan Square) by car, bus or bike, you won’t leave without creating the vehicle of your dreams if you check out the museum’s LEGO Travel Adventures exhibit, which started in January and continues through May 12. Build your own Lego cars, ride in child-sized Lego racecars and leave the road rage at the door. The exhibit is free with regular museum admission: $13 for anyone age 2 or older. The Strong Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Visit museumofplay.org for more info and events.

Music: Electronic duo Synthetica, comprising Sonam and the laptop-manning Eric the Taylor, return to the Little Theatre Café (240 East Ave.) for a free concert at 7:30 p.m.

Workshop: The next great Hollywood blockbuster or Academy Award winner could spring right out of Rochester. It might even spring right out of you. If you’ve had a movie in your head, get in down on paper at the Screenwriting 101 workshop at Pittsford Library (24 State St., Pittsford), held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The workshop will be taught by Evan Rubenstein, who also teaches a screenwriting workshop at Writers & Books and has experience in writing, film and producing movies. The workshop is free, but registration is limited. Call the library at 585-248-6275 for more info.
