Daily Choices: What to do on Monday, October 29

SPECIAL EVENT: Halloween festivities continue tonight through Wednesday, which is the official spooktacular day. Check out the Warehouse of Biowar(1290 University Ave.), which features a walk-through maze that simulates society's fragmented infrastructure in a post-apocalyptic setting. The event runs 7-11 p.m., and tickets are $12. For more info, visit cayoindustrial.com. Check out City's Halloween Guide (linked below) for more events.

ART: Take in "Asina/Familiar," an exhibition exploring contemporary Turkish culture, held at SPAS Gallery, RIT (Lomb Memorial Drive, Henrietta) through November 16. A free reception will be held 5-7 p.m. tonight, followed by a panel discussion. For more information, call 475-2884.

MUSIC: Just in time for Halloween, the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave., bugjar.com) is bringing back Very Manic Mondays, this week featuring Miss T & Lady Z spinning a whole bunch of your favorite 80's music. If you lived through them (or missed them, like I did) take the chance to remember that great decade and warm up for Halloween proper. The fun starts at 9 p.m.

MUSIC: Monday nights might make you blue, but there's no reason that can't be a good thing. Head on down to The Beale (693 South Ave., bealestreetcafe.com) tonight for some good blues via Tony Giannavola. Music starts at 7 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENT: The Little Theatre (240 East Ave.) will host the WXXI Community Cinema Screening of "As Goes Janesville," an exploration of America's dwindling middle class, tonight at 7 p.m. The screening is free to attend; for more info, visit wxxi.org/communitycinema.

MUSIC: If you are looking for some classical brass music, check out the Eastman School of Music's Faculty Artist series (26 Gibbs St., esm.rochester.edu), this week featuring Mark Kellogg, who will be playing out on his trombone and euphonium. The concert will be in Hatch Recital Hall at 8 p.m., tickets run $10 and are available one hour before the concert at the door only.
