FASHION | "Recycled Runway"

Can fashion make an ecological difference? Can materials saved from the landfills be fashionable? The creative folks involved in the annual "Recycled Runway" event say yes. The show — which is The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes' signature fundraising event — will be held on Saturday, May 30, from 8 to 11 p.m., at Corning Museum of Glass auditorium (1 Museum Way, Corning).

This year's one-of-a-kind creations, made by artists of all ages, are constructed from such repurposed items as dried tea bags, plastic milk gallons, Mardi Gras beads, shards of glass, heirloom handkerchiefs, keyboards, movie posters, and more. An hour-long open bar begins at 8 p.m., and a cash bar will be available after the show.

General admission is $50, and premium admission is $90, which includes a seat at the runway and a swag bag to take home. For more information, call 607-962-1332 or visit earts.org/recycled-runway.
