THEATER | 'The Best Laid Plans'

Black Sheep Theatre will present "The Best Laid Plans," an evening of five one-act plays written by husband-and-wife team Robin Anne Joseph and Albi Gorn, and directed by Kristy Angevine-Funderburk and Diane Mashia. As the name suggests, the different stories are loosely connected by the concept of carefully set efforts going awry.

"Double-Date" centers on a particularly surprising element of a blind date. In "The Rub," co-workers discover they are dreaming the same dreams at night. "Welcome to Norway" features a traveling woman who ends up someplace unexpected. In "Verbatim," a woman hires a court reporter to document an argument with her husband who always refutes things he's said in the heat of discussions. And "Family Affair" is a meet-the-parents story full of revelations.

"Best Laid Plans" will take place Friday, September 15, and Saturday, September 16, and Thursday, September 21, through Saturday, September 23, at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, September 17, at 2 p.m. at Black Sheep Theatre (274 North Goodman Street in the Village Gate Square, studio D313). Tickets are $16 in advance (call 861-4816) and $20 at the door. For more information, visit blacksheeptheatre.org.
