CLASSICAL | Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival

The prospect of listening to great music performed in a beautiful natural setting — and perhaps with a bottle of wine within easy reach — is hard to resist. You can spend much of an upstate New York summer so employed, starting with the first concert of the Finger Lakes Classical Music Festival, which will run on weekends through August 2. This Saturday, June 14, at Hunt Country Vineyards in Branchport, you can hear the delicate sound of the fortepiano (the lighter-toned, Classical-era ancestor of the grand piano) in two Mozart masterpieces, the "Kegelstatt" Trio and the Piano Quartet in E-flat K. 493. The program also includes music by J.S. Bach and Rebecca Clarke. Fortepianist Audrey Axinn will perform with members of the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra.

The first performance of The Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival takes place Saturday, June 14, at Hunt Country Vineyards, 4021 Italy Hill Road, Branchport. 7:30 p.m. $20; free for students. Fingerlakes-music.org
