For a band that's been around 25 years, Zeke still has methamphetamine-levels of energy and a whole lot of guts. The West Coast-based, metal-tinged punk band bludgeons its listeners with a full-throttle assault of fast-moving guitar lines and lots of head banging. Since 1993, Zeke has released dozens of singles and eight full-length albums, the most recent being "Hellbender" in 2017 under a new lineup.
Zeke plays with The Emersons, Babayaga, and Heatseeker on Saturday, August 4, at the Bug Jar, 219 Monroe Avenue. 9 p.m. $18. bugjar.com; zekeyou.com.
