The KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival is expanding again. Organizers announced this morning that the 2019 festival will open on Tuesday, September 10, and run through September 21. That extends the multi-arts festival to 12 days.

This year, the festival ran for 11 days, which was up from 10 days the year before.

Fringe will open its 2019 show submission period on March 1, a month earlier than it did las t year, and it will expand the submission period to six weeks, from four, ending April 15. Performers and organizations wanting to be considered for the event apply online directly to the venues that participate in Fringe, through rochesterfringe.com. Applications are free, and prospective participants are encouraged to apply early in the process.

The 2018 Fringe offered 549 performances and events in 33 spaces at 23 venues in downtown Rochester. Organizers say that this year’s edition broke previous ticket-sales records by more than 12 percent.
