Clean and Healthy New York and the Child Care Council will hold a series of training sessions for child care providers that follow the guidelines set forth by the Children's Environmental Health Network's national Eco-Healthy Child Care curriculum. Several community and health care organizations will sponsor the presentation, "the Affordable Care Act: How it Affects You," at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 29. Sr. Christine Wagner, director of the St. Joseph's Neighborhood Center, will provide information on the pros and cons of the new law, dispel misinformation, and talk about the application process for those who do not have health insurance. The event will be held at St. Mary's Church, 15 St. Mary's Place, downtown. Seating is limited. Donations are accepted.
Rochester for Obama will hold "Meet the Candidates for School Board Night" from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, at the Memorial AME Zion Church, 549 Clarissa Street.
