Rochester school district officials will present their proposed budget for the 2017-2018 school year in several meetings that are open to the public. Everton Sewell, the district’s chief financial officer, will make the first presentation to the school board on Tuesday, March 14.

The board will then hold three review sessions: Thursday, March 30; Tuesday, April 11; and Tuesday, April 25. Public hearings on the budget will be held on Tuesday, March 21, and Tuesday, April 4, which will give parents, students, and community members an opportunity to comment on the proposal. Genesee Regional Off-Road Cyclists will present a proposal to expand Tryon Park’s trails during Thursday’s meeting of the Monroe County Parks Advisory Committee.

The proposal will be part of a public workshop on multi-use trails in Tryon, which will be led by the committee. The workshop will allow for public input and discussion about the trails, as well as the GROC proposal.

The Parks Advisory Committee meets at 6 p.m. at Durand Eastman Park’s golf course clubhouse, 1200 Kings Highway North. BY JEREMY MOULE
